New Delhi. UGC Research Grants and Fellowship Schemes: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced 3 new research grants and 2 fellowship schemes. A statement issued by the UGC said that the benefit of these new schemes will be available to newly appointed faculty members, serving faculty members and retired faculty members. Let’s know what are the 3 Research Grants and 2 Fellowship Schemes of UGC and what are the eligibility requirements.
1. New research grants for serving faculty members
A statement issued by the UGC said that under this grant, 200 selected participants will be given a grant of Rs 10 lakh. This amount of subsidy will be given to the participants for two years only.
2. Dr. for new recruitment. D.S. Kothari Research Grant
DS Kothari Grant announced by UGC is a post-doctoral fellowship for candidates in science, medicine and engineering disciplines. Under this fellowship, 132 selected candidates will be given financial assistance of Rs.10 lakh. The UGC in its statement said that the grant amount will be given to the participants for two years only.
3. Fellowship for retirees
UGC has launched this new scheme for people who have retired from teaching and research programmes. 100 selected contestants will get Rs 50,000 per month as fellowship and Rs 50,000 per year as contingency payment. The duration of this fellowship will be 3 years.
4. Dr. Radhakrishnan UGC Post-Doctoral Fellowship
Dr. Radhakrishnan UGC Post-Doctoral Fellowship by UGC has secured maximum number of seats compared to others. 900 seats are available in this fellowship. Selected participants will get Rs 50,000 per month and Rs 50,000 per year as contingency. 30 percent seats are reserved for women in this fellowship.
5. Savitribai Jyotirao Phule Fellowship for Unmarried Girl
Currently there is no fixed number for this fellowship announced by UGC. A statement issued by the UGC said that the main objective of the Savitribai Jyotirao Phule Fellowship is to encourage unmarried girls to continue their education and research.
