Medical Students: Medical students who have returned from Ukraine are allowed to appear for this exam

Medical Students FMG Exam: During the war between Russia and Ukraine, medical students who returned to India faced many problems. On which the Central Government has allowed the returning students to appear for the Foreign Medical Graduation (FMG) examination. India had returned 20,000 medical students during the war between Russia and Ukraine. The Supreme Court has allowed final year students who returned to India due to Covid and Russia-Ukraine war to appear for the FMG exam and graduate on the date of notification.

The Supreme Court has directed to formulate a plan within two months to allow MBBS students affected by the Russia-Ukraine war and the pandemic to complete their medical training in medical colleges here. The National Medical Commission has said in an affidavit that only after passing the foreign medical degree examination, such foreign medical graduates will have to undergo a mandatory rotating medical internship for two years instead of the current one-year rule.

FMG Exam –
This exam is for students who come from abroad after medical education and have to practice in their country, then they have to pass the FMG exam. The National Examination Board conducts this examination twice every year. This exam is considered as one of the toughest exams in India. There are 2 papers in this exam, both of which have a duration of 5 hours. In which the first paper is of 200 marks and the second is of 100 marks, both the papers are objective.

Eligibility to apply for the examination
A student appearing for the FMG exam must be an Indian citizen studying abroad.
The student must have a qualification recognized by an institution confirmed by the embassy of that country.

Before that the candidate has to submit some documents to confirm that the candidate has cleared the final examination of First Aid Examination.
