Gwalior, the process of conducting online PhD examination has been started by Jiwaji University (JU), Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. It is said that the entrance exam for PhD will be conducted in the month of March. This time, the exam will be held on 438 seats, for which the process of filling the entrance exam form will start from the first week of February.
This time the PhD exam is being held after a delay of almost six months. The PhD examination was completed at the end of July. But regarding the delay in the examination this time, the management says that the guide for PhD in JU did not provide proper information about the vacancies on time. After several attempts, when the information became available, the exams were delayed, for which the application process will be started from the first month of February. As per UGC’s revised PhD program admission rules, 60 percent of the seats will be filled through NET-JRF. While remaining 40% seats will be admitted through PhD entrance exam.

After a one-month application process, the entrance exams will be held in March. Professor SK Dwivedi said that the preparations for the PhD entrance exam are almost complete. For this, the negotiations with the exam conducting agencies have been finalized. As per the university management, applicants who have cleared the NET-JRF exam will not have to appear for the PhD entrance exam. Such applicants will be directly included in the counseling of Ph.D. after applying.
At the same time, a proposal for conducting the PhD entrance exam has been prepared and sent to the JU administration. The PhD examinations will be conducted online.
