Skill subject will be in the best 5
There is talk of including skill subject in CBSE Board’s ‘Best of Five’ for class 9th and 10th. There will be an opportunity to do so when the student has not scored well in any of the electives. In which, if a student fails in 3 mainstream subjects (Science, Maths and Social Science), the skill subject marks can be counted in ‘Best of Five’.

Decided to implement NEP
The change proposed by CBSE will be implemented from the next academic session 2023-24. CBSE has taken this decision to implement the New Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020). It will bridge the gap between elective and skill subjects (CBSE Skill Education). Studying vocational subjects along with mainstream subjects will enhance the knowledge of the students.

What will be the benefit?
Studying professional subjects will enable students to know how to apply what they learn in real life. The teaching of skill subject will be started in the school itself. By doing this, the country can become a global skill capital in the future. This will not make any difference to the syllabus of mainstream subjects.
